“Enriching IT awareness in Sri Lanka.”
ReadMe is an exclusive IT content provider in Sri Lanka empowering the IT industry with unbiased information and enriching IT awareness within the local community.
Among the handful of other local IT websites providing content in English, ReadMe consistently aims to provide news and reviews based on primary research from a ReadMe standpoint, which enables the readers to consume information always on a fresh perspective.
Sri Lanka’s IT industry is flourishing but somehow the ripples caused by young individuals and SME’s barely make it to the mainstream media. The perceived lack of opportunities for innovators and entrepreneurs within the home country inevitably leads to an alarming rate of brain drain overseas. Unearthing hidden talents and expertise, and giving them due exposure and recognition is a key agenda of ReadMe.
Effective job placement within the IT industry is another area that’s being keenly looked into. Having a rich database of local university students and unemployed graduates, the weekly newsletter and website aims to keeps them updated with recruitment intakes and emerging new job opportunities.
The email newsletter is essentially a summarised weekly recap of the news highlights published on ReadMe.lk with links attached to the main articles. The newsletter also alternates as a comprehensive calendar of local events and meet-ups happening during the week. Featured products and discounted coupons are a few add-ons.
Stay tuned to the latest buzz in the local IT industry!

README is an IT and business magazine with international quality content and a national scope.
The content is structured into three sections – Work, Study and Play – each with targeted content. Work concerns the business of IT with connections to people that work and hire in the field. Study covers the education aspect, with connections to schools and professional knowledge. Finally, Play covers the fun aspects, gaming, exploration and entertainment.
In order to obtain national reach, the content is also intelligently available in all three languages. Articles will be summarized in Sinhala, Tamil and English (depending) so that the article not only teaches IT, it also teaches language skills.
The appeal of this magazine is that the Sri Lankan economy, IT in particular, is booming, as is usage of consumer IT products (smart phones, computers). Local knowledge, however, has not kept up, especially in terms of training for available jobs. In that sense ReadMe is more than entertainment, if offers necessary and marketable skills to being a working professional in the IT age.README is an IT and business magazine with international quality content and a national scope.
