Biz Quiz 2013: Are You Ready to Take on the Challenge?

Consider yourself a ‘know-it-all’? Or do you know a work colleague or boss who claims they know everything? Well, here’s an opportunity for all you masterminds to test your knowledge and memory with Biz Quiz 2013, organized exclusively for the mercantile sector in Sri Lanka.

Biz Quiz 2013 is being organized by Dashing Events, in association with the European Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka (ECCSL), along with many other event and service partners including ReadMe, the Official Online Media Partner for the event. Biz Quiz will be held on Sunday 10^th February 2013 at Ramada Colombo.

Quiz programmes are proving extremely popular in Sri Lanka. In addition to the quiz game shows on TV which offers the opportunity for participants to become millionaires overnight, there are quite a few other regular quiz competitions held throughout the country, and in fact many companies have dedicated teams who attend these events. Most of these quiz events held in Sri Lanka are general competitions which are open to all categories (schools, corporates, individual groups, etc.) and do not target the mercantile sector specifically. More often than not, these quiz programmes are dominated by school teams or teams comprising of individuals who are ‘quiz veterans’.

This is where Biz Quiz 2013 hopes to create a refreshing difference. Not only will this competition be exclusively for the mercantile sector, but it will also recognize winners from various categories (Banking and Finance, IT, Telecom, Travel and Hospitality, etc.). This is indeed a first.

“Over the years, Dashing Events has been involved in organizing quite a few quiz programmes for other organizations, and this time we thought of organizing a quiz competition ourselves with a difference. Our partnerships with the ECCSL and others like ReadMe, ABC Computers, Mobideals, Epitom Consulting, PR Wire and Photo Art has helped us to position this competition at a different level” said Dhashanthie Gamalatge, Founder and Event Consultant at Dashing Events. The competition will be a table quiz and each team will comprise of 5 members each. Shehan Kumar, the Quiz Master for Biz Quiz 2013, said “The knowledge expected will be encyclopedic but the questions will be practical ones, providing the opportunity for all participants to enjoy the programme”.
