At the recently held HRM Awards 2014, two software companies won big by walking off with gold awards. In case you’re lost, the HRM Awards aims to recognize the innovative and cutting-edge human resource practices adopted in the everyday operations of an organization.

Just last month 99X Technology became the first and only Sri Lankan company to be named as one of the Best Workplaces in Asia. Barely a month later, it celebrated a new award. That’s in addition to the numerous (and widely publicised) Great Places To Work awards and the others on the rack.

“It has been an amazing journey for 99X Technology thus far and it is truly heartening to be recognised for our human resource management by an esteemed organisation such as the Association of Human Resource Professionals, which is an inspiration for us to keep bettering our HR practices,” stated 99X Technology co-Founder and CEO Mano Sekaram.

Then there’s Virtusa, arguably the largest player in our software industry. They’ve recently won Stevie Awards for the ‘HR Department of the Year’; they’ve also grabbed UK’s Top Employer, the Golden Peacock HR Excellence Award, Asia’s Best Employer, Best Places to Work by The Albany Business Review, and Achiever’s Top 50 Most Engaged Work Places Award. Now they got Gold at the HRM Awards.

Sundararajan Narayanan, senior vice president and global head of HR at Virtusa said, “We recognize the need to create a collaborative, stimulating and exciting workplace that attracts and nurtures the next generation of business leaders. We are committed to leveraging our social business engagement platform, V+, built on gamification principles, to provide an inspiring work experience for our team members, especially millennials and advanced digital users.”
