The Colombo Agile Conference, the next phase of the Colombo Agile Camp is to be held on the 23rd of January 2013 at BMICH, Committee Room A. The objective of this conference will be to spread knowledge on agile practices within the Sri Lankan ICT landscape. This is an initiative taken by The Colombo Agile community, an independent association with the objective of enhancing and improving skills of local professionals towards these methodologies.
The International speakers for the event are Mr. Ilan Goldstein and Mr. Colin Tan. Mr. Goldstein, is a globally recognized Certified Scrum Trainer (CST) and has extensive experience working with start-ups, market leaders and public companies to improve their agility through the implementation of Scrum. He is “One” of only five global CSTs approached by Pearson Publishing (under the Addison-Wesley brand) to author his own Scrum-focused book as part of the critically acclaimed and popular ‘Cohn Agile Signature Series’. Along with being a founder of AxisAgile (an agile training and consulting company in Sydney, Australia), he regularly speaks at many conferences, contributes to industry publications and blogs on Scrum related matters. Ilan is also on the board of Scrum Australia, organizers of Australia’s National Scrum conferences.
Mr. Colin Tan the second international guest speaker has worked with publicly listed companies, media companies and software startups to create memorable user experiences and build products that users fall in love with. He has held the roles of Senior Business Analyst, Product Analyst, Product Manager and User Experience Manager before finally arriving at his true calling and passion, the role of Scrum Product Owner. Furthermore, he is the illustrator of “Scrum Shortcuts without Cutting Corners”, a Scrum-focused book in the popular ‘Cohn Agile Signature Series’ being published by Pearson Publishing.
Along with being a Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), Certified Scrum Master (CSM) and Scrum trainer, Colin is also a Director of AxisAgile, a Scrum training, coaching and consulting company based in Sydney, Australia. He’s also a Director of Scrum Australia as well, a not-for-profit organization charged with running Australia’s first Scrum-focused conference.
At the Agile Conference, Mr. Goldstein will be expressing his views on “Agile Attitudes and Abilities” highlighting a new way of working that requires a deep understanding of the innate attitudes and abilities that are required, rather than simply focusing on the operational roles and responsibilities. Mr. Tan will be presenting his findings on “Agile Matrices” sharing some practical real life metrics that practitioners could use within their teams.
Furthermore, participants will also have an opportunity of experiencing real-life Agile practices from Sri Lanka’s leading industry experts.
