If I told you that your idea could be the next best thing since sliced bread, would you believe me? Fame, fortune, pizza, they can all be yours.
But there’s a catch.
You have to come up with the idea and a platform to go along with it, in 24 hours.
Aimed at start-up enthusiasts, developers, designer, marketers, and managers or just about anyone who has an idea, LAN Hack 2015 is set to take off at the YAMU Office (14/15A Duplication Road, Colombo 4) as10 AM on the 9th of May. As with any hackathon, teams consisting of individuals with similar interests collaborate and work together with the aim of building the next big start-up.
Registrations for the event have closed, but if you are among the chosen few, bring with you everything you require to make your idea work (laptops, software, brains and a great presenter). Internet, power and meals will be provided, but it is recommended to bring along a spare dongle just to be safe. The final Judgment will be carried out the 10th (Sunday) by a panel of industry leaders and investors. The top five teams whose ideas are selected will be eligible for the 2015 run of Venture Engine (we spoke about Lanka Angel Networks and their Venture Engine here).
Of course, we’ll cost by the YAMU HQ on Sunday and let you know what’s been cooking. Stay tuned!
