Following months of speculation, Scope Cinemas has finally opened up IMAX tickets for the upcoming movie Deadpool & Wolverine, just days before the premier.
Back in May, the company teased it was preparing to launch Sri Lanka’s first IMAX theatre experience, either with Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga or Deadpool & Wolverine. Last week, Scope Cinemas officially announced that its IMAX Theatre at Havelock City’s Scope Cinemas Multiplex will open with the upcoming Marvel movie. “Our IMAX Theatre will be the crown jewel in our network, and we are proud to be able to bring this experience to Sri Lanka for the first time,” says Thushan Rangana Meemanage, Director and CEO at Scope Cinemas.
Tickets for Sri Lanka’s first IMAX 3D experience are priced at LKR 4,875 (peak) and LKR 4,575 (off peak). At the time of writing, all three showtimes on opening day for the movie are already sold out.
