In case you’ve been unable to log onto Twitter, don’t worry it’s not just you. The site was reportedly down for around 40 minutes for users around the globe for web, mobile as well as its own TweetDeck app. Downdetector has logged a sharp uptick in the number of users claiming Twitter is inaccessible.

This is the first major outage for the social network in a while. The last time Twitter went down was back in February when some users in the US couldn’t access the site owing to a “technical bug that was preventing timelines from loading and Tweets from posting.” However, back in October 2021, Facebook suffered a massive global outage that lasted for hours, which was suspected to be a DNS issue at the time.

It’s unclear if Twitter faced a similar problem with the outage. The service appears to have come back online for users now. Twitter claims some trouble with its internal systems that impacted users around the world.
