Tech One Global appointed as Autodesk distributors

Autodesk is famous for their AutoCAD, 3D Studio and Maya products.  They’ve officially appointed Tech One Global as a Value Added Distributor for Sri Lanka and Maldives, which means they’ll be establishing a local presence for Autodesk and pushing out products like Creative Suite through resellers.

“Autodesk has expressed confidence in our company’s ability to distribute Autodesk Software due to our extensive experience and technical know-how in marketing leading technology products,” said Wasantha Weerakoone, Tech One Chief Operating Officer, speaking to Ceylon Today. “With our strong presence in both countries and backed with our experience, we believe we can help Autodesk have a broader reach into both markets. Moving forward, we expect to expand our operations to support the Autodesk software distribution aspect of the business. In the next couple of months, we expect to hire more people and acquire additional office space.”

Tech One’s been operating as a distributor of products as services all over the world, and they’re a Microsoft Partner with operations in Sri Lanka, the US, Philippines, Nepal and Bangladesh, so they’re as well equipped as anyone is to take on Autodesk distributorship. Chances are Autodesk can pull a Microsoft and convince mainstream Sri Lanka to actually buy their products instead of pirating them.
